| - | ====== How I made Diamonds with RF! ====== | ||
| - | |||
| - | Right, I have to warn you - this did take a fair bit of trial and error and "What the.." moments. But I succeeded in the end, from creating Diamonds with RF, sorta ;-). First up lets take a look at what the problem really is. | ||
| - | |||
| - | We have a nice reactor that feeds our draconic Core (Tier 6 right now). So we have plenty of RF, what we do not have is IndustrialCraft2 energy at hand. And since Direwolf20 Server does not have Conversions mod installed, and we're not going to install it by hand - I had to figure something out. Now, I know IndustrialCraft has a reactor, but that one requires Uranium and centrifuges and stuff, and all I want is diamonds. So, what do you do? | ||
| - | |||
| - | The answer lies in a combination of Actually Additions, Extra Utilities 2, DeepResonance, | ||
| - | |||
| - | So the list of items (if you want to know how to make them, look up the recipes) | ||
| - | |||
| - | * Vanilla Minecraft | ||
| - | * 2 buckets (could' | ||
| - | * Actually Additions | ||
| - | * Metric ton of Extreme Energy Laser Relays (for RF power) | ||
| - | * Extra Utilities 2 | ||
| - | * 1 mechanical user, set to use Item, Right Click | ||
| - | * 1 Lava Factory | ||
| - | * 4 Casing (needed for the lava factory) | ||
| - | * DeepResonance : | ||
| - | * 64 tank | ||
| - | * EnderIO : | ||
| - | * Tank | ||
| - | * 6 Ender fluid Pipes | ||
| - | * Vibrant Capacitor (25MRF) | ||
| - | * Refined Storage: | ||
| - | * 1 Controller | ||
| - | * 1 Disk Drive | ||
| - | * 1 Storage disk (1K, you REALLY only need 1 slot to keep the bucket) | ||
| - | * 1 exporter (set to export empty buckets) | ||
| - | * 1 importer (set to import Lava buckets) | ||
| - | * 1 Interface (set to Export Lava buckets, Imports Empty buckets) | ||
| - | * 1 Grid | ||
| - | * Cable to connect RS units. | ||
| - | * Industrial Craft | ||
| - | * 1 Pump | ||
| - | * 1 Geothermal generator | ||
| - | * 1 Compressor | ||
| - | |||
| - | ===== Infinite lava ===== | ||
| - | Lava factory is wonderful, it takes 150KRF and returns a lava block, and I realized late in the process that I could' | ||
| - | |||
| - | ===== Pick up lava ===== | ||
| - | Now, I tried several different solutions - one of the main issues with the lava factory is that it has casings on all 4 sides where the lava is. Meaning, if you slap something on top, you really have NO idea what is going on, i.e. I tried the Fluid Pump from Immersive engineering - that one worked once, then turned the lava into cobbelstone, | ||
| - | |||
| - | ===== Transport lava ===== | ||
| - | Now, I like Refined Storage (RS) for several reasons. It is a no frill, no nonsense storage mod with some nice features in it like export and import. A laser relay was connected to A vibrant Capacitor and around it was placed | ||
| - | |||
| - | Then I connected an importer to the Mechanical User (Importers import into the RS network) set it to import lava buckets. Also slapped an exporter (exporters export from the RS network) onto the mechanical user, set it to export empty buckets. Threw in an empty bucket in the grid, and was rewarded with a lava bucket shortly after. Score, we now transport it to/from grid. | ||
| - | |||
| - | I connected an Interface to my RS setup, configured it to export Lava buckets, it will import whatever I connect to it drops. So the EnderIO fluid tank was connected to the Interface. Lava started filling - 1 bucket at a time. | ||
| - | |||
| - | ===== Store Lava ===== | ||
| - | Argh, the EnderIO fluid tank doesn' | ||
| - | |||
| - | The EnderIO buffer serves a dual purpose, I have a comparator right in front of it, and if it is full, it will ship out a signal of 15, this can be used to turn off the Mechanical user - but you could also just let it run, then the bucket will end up in the interface until there is room, effectively stopping the mechanical user (only 1 bucket in the system). | ||
| - | |||
| - | ===== Lava powered ===== | ||
| - | Finally, I setup the IC2 pump atop the DeepResonance Tank, remember to set the Tank to export on the block you wish to connect it to. Upgraded the pump with a fluid ejector upgrade, plopped a cell in (No, I don't know why.. I just did). Set down the Gothermal Generator next to it. Stuffed a lava bucket into the Geothermal Generator to kickstart it, and after a couple of rotations of the Pump, suddenly the Generator flared up and the pump started working. it requires about 60 EU/t to run continously. Set down a compressor next to the generator and gave it pull/eject upgrades (advanced apparently didn't work for me..) - And compressor received energy. | ||
| - | |||
| - | |||
| - | ===== The End ===== | ||
| - | From here it was a simple matter of using RS to setup autocrafting recipes and checks to make sure I have what I need to make diamonds. | ||
| - | * Coal Powder | ||
| - | * Flint | ||
| - | * Coal Ball | ||
| - | * Compressed Coal ball | ||
| - | * Coal Chunk | ||
| - | * Diamond (or Industrial Diamonds..) | ||
| - | |||
| - | * 8 Coal Powder + Flint = 1 Coal Ball | ||
| - | * 1 Coal Ball + Compressor = 1 Compressed Coal Ball | ||
| - | * 8 Compressed Coal Ball + Obsidian = Coal Chunk | ||
| - | * 1 Coal Chunk + Compressor = Diamond | ||
| - | |||
| - | So it costs, 1 obsidian, 8 flint and 64 Coal Powder to get 1 diamond .. and quite a lot of time.. *Sigh* :) | ||
